Fathers Day

Fathers Day is just around the corner – less than two weeks to go! (September 6, if you've forgotten!) Have you booked a lunch by the river with Dad?

Try the Wharf Hotel, or World Bar and Restaurant, who’ll shout Dad his first pint, or the kids can make Dad walk the plank at Polly Woodside where a treasure hunt, scrubbing of the decks and pirate games will provide plenty of entertainment.

Southgate have a number of options for dining specials on Father's Day as well, including Hophaus, PJ O’Briens, La Camera and Pure South Dining.

If Dad still needs something to keep him busy through September, Hophaus is bringing Munich to Melbourne from Friday 18 September.

Hoptoberfest will kick off with the tapping of the keg at 6pm on the 18th, and continue through to September 27.

On Saturday 19 September, celebrations will include Teckelrennen – The running of the Wieners (an Inaugural Dachshund Race!) at 10.30am to 10.45am in the Podium Courtyard, Southgate with the Annual Sausage Eating Competition from 1pm.

For more arty Dads, head to the National Gallery of Victoria to peruse the current exhibitions, or take a walk along the river, exploring the many cultural spots and artworks or enjoying the BBQ facilities.

We wish all the Dads a very Happy Father's Day by the river.
